General account of fossils, organic evolution and systematic palaeontology, spatial distribution of organisms, stratigraphy and palaeontology, major subdivisions of vertebrates with their morphology, geological history and evolution of dinosaurs, horses and elephants, primates and ancestry of man, vertebrate fossils of India, plant microfossils including spores, pollens and fossil seeds, introduction to micropalaeontology and record of microfossils in Phanerozoic rocks of India, morphology, characteristics and ecological significance of foraminifera, ostracoda, conodonts and radiolaria.
