Module I which is Physical Organic Chemistry and Reaction Mechanism focuses on fundamental aspects of the organic reaction mechanism. Concepts like acidity and basicity of organic compounds, intermediates, isotope effects, and their role in predicting reaction mechanism will be the essence of this module.
Module III which is Stereochemistry comprises of identification of elements of Symmetry in the molecule, Assigning R-S nomenclature to allenes, Spiro compounds, biphenyls , ansa compounds, binols etc. It also includes identifying the homotopic , enantiotopic and diastereostopic faces and ligands.
